1972 Rusty joins the Army during the Vietnam War
The integration of schools in the South was very harsh on black kids. In our home town of Calera Rusty was welcomed and accepted at Calera High by all the white students.

Me and My Hero" is a true story about Rusty's life, but his death isn't the end of his story only the beginning of his new eternal life in Heaven with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
